Corinne Gayton

Registered Social Worker

Welcome! I am a registered social worker (ACSW # 4961) and have been employed in the helping field for more than 30 years (BSW 1991, MSW 1995). Since 2007 I have worked as a therapist for the Hinton Friendship Centre in the Mamowichihitowin program, assisting families and individuals in their recovery from trauma, complex grief, and the effects of colonization. These struggles often surface in people as anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, parenting and/or relationship challenges. I bring a blend of much heart, compassion, skill and experience to my work. I am honored to be of service to all people in their unique and personal journey of reclamation.

I hail from a large farm family and was born and raised in northern Alberta’s Peace Country. I am a settler ally of English/French and Polish/Austrian descent. I have 3 adult children and 1 cheeky grandson. I work in both Edson and Grande Cache, and dearly love both places. I am old enough to retire (!) but continue to feel both deep satisfaction and gratitude for the opportunity to do this work and have these important conversations.
